I have made these inspirations from my surroundings.
Field of Poppies
18x24, acrylic on canvas
Orange poppies under a blue sky wave in the breeze. An accumulation of photos that inspired me to paint this beautiful field.
16x20, acrylic on canvas
I painted this old gray church form a photo a friend had taken. The church sat crumbling in a field form years of non use. In the background of the sky I painted a ghost of the cross to symbolize the spirit of what this building still represents.
Water Street, Bermuda
8x10, acrylic on paper
On vacation years ago, I sat on the steps of the post office in Saint George, Bermuda. The morning light made the colorful homes cheerful along the street.
Water Street in St. George
9x12, acrylic on paper
Another street scene in Bermuda that I painted when on vacation on the island. This side lane was picturesque with color and angles. I hope to go back some day and continue to capture this historic area.
Farm on Mount Zion Road
8x10, acrylic on canvas
As an UPS driver there were many scenic places I delivered packages to. In Upperco, Maryland this farm was one of them. On a Saturday afternoon, I took my daughter Shannon and her friends to do some Plein Air painting and this was the work I did that day.
Green Barn Study
12x12, acrylic on gallery canvas
Delivering in Carroll county, Md gave me opportunity to see scenic country. Just south of the town of Westminster was a small barn in a field that cows would graze. I did a small painting thinking later a big one would look great. The yellow gold of the field, rustic green wood of the barn, and purple blue sky make a vibrant picture of this landscape.
